Here Goes.....

Everyone has to start a blog sometimes, right? Well maybe not, yet it seems to be a worthwhile effort so here I go. To catch you up to speed on our family I'll give a quick synopsis. Ben and I (Alysia) have been married 8 + wonderful happy years. We have two children, Audrey Monee' who is already 3 1/2 and Jackson Ford will be 1 in just a couple weeks. We came up with Ford by shortening my dad's name Clifford. Oh yeah and we have a saltwater tank and one dog whose real identity Addie but almost always is called Dirt. Yes you read that correctly. He's a white Maltese who likes to go outside and consequently his fur shows it...we started called him that dirty dog and eventually he began answering to Dirt. I cannot tell you how many times I've explained his name! I love nicknames and in our family we all have them. Audrey is Audrey Monee' (the Monee' taken from me as it's my middle name too) I use to sing Audrey Mo to her all the time and the 'Mo' stuck. Somehow we turned that into Momo and then she started to refer to herself as Moey...we still call her all of those names. As for Jackson he is mostly called Jack-Jack and since thus far he's a man of few words that he'll probably remain for a while. Once in a while his sister calls him Jack the Breaker because he is always knocking down her legos.... Ben is mostly 'Honey' to me but don't anybody else called him that! He also answers to Benji, Benjamin and Bennie. I often get called Lysh or Lysh-mo (but that one better be by family only!), Aly-Mo or Sheesh although I'd have to say I'd really like to be called Aly as I was until kindergarten when I insisted that if I had to learn to spell my whole name than people could say the whole name (that seems so silly now!) I know we are kinda out there with the nicknames but enough of that. I am blessed to stay home with our brood while Ben works in construction with his dad mostly building custom homes here in Spokane Valley and thoroughly enjoys his job. We love the outdoors-in fact Ben and Audrey,our friend Chris and nephew Chase are currently sledding up at Mt. Spokane- we spend a lot of time together just enjoying our family, and are always working on some kind of project around the house. Right now thats finishing our basement bathroom which is ready for paint! We enjoy friends and being social although that can be challenging with the two young people in our family. We also enjoy our church and married life group we attend and try to live our lives according to the will of Jesus. So there in a nutshell is Our Peterson Family. Stay tuned for more updates!
